Olive (Zaitoon) in Ahadith
- Abu Aseed said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Eat the oil (of Olive) and use it on your hair and skin, for it comes from a blessed tree.”
(Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 1852)
- Abu Usayd (RA) says. “Prophet (PBUH) said: ‘Use olive oil in eating and for rubbing (on the body), for it is from a mubaarak (blessed) tree”‘.
(Shama’il Muhammadiyah, Book 25, Hadith 149)
- It was narrated from ‘Umar (RA), that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: ‘Season (your food) with olive oil and anoint (rub) yourselves with it, for it comes from a blessed tree.”
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 4, Book 29, Hadith 3319)
- It was narrated that Zaid bin Arqam (RA) said: “The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prescribed Warss (memecyclon tinctorium), Indian aloeswood (Agarwood) and olive oil for pleurisy, to be administered through the side of the mouth.”

- Salma (RA) says that Hasan, Abdullah ibn Abbas and Abdullah ibn Ja'far Sadiq (RA) came to her and said, Cook for us the food that Rasoolullah sallallahu alaihe wasallam liked and ate with pleasure. She replied, O my children, you will not like it now. (It was only liked in times of hardships.) They replied, Of course, we will surely like it. She got up and took a bit of barley, (crushed it) and put it in a pot, and poured a little olive oil over it, then crushed some chillies and spices and added it to the pot and served it, saying, This is what Rasoolullah sallallahu alaihe wasallam loved (and ate with pleasure).

There is also a famous saying that olive has cure for seventy diseases in it
